The Perfect Shoes for a Long Shift

If you’ve never had a job where you’ve had to be on your feet all day, it’s hard to gauge how difficult that actually is. It’s extremely tiring on a body having to walk all day long, and when you’re already mentally drained from your job, this physical exhaustion can really compound the problem. This is true of a profession like waitressing, but it’s also particularly true for nurses. Nurses often work notoriously long shifts with few breaks, and this can be very tiring day in and day out.

This exhaustion can be somewhat alleviated, however, by wearing the correct shoes. Womens nursing shoes are designed with this in mind. If a nurse’s shoes are even somewhat tight or uncomfortable, they can make a long shift downright unbearable. To ensure you have the most comfortable shoes, make sure that the shoes offer plenty of cushion and support. Also make sure they don’t have any heels, as this can create great deals of pressure on the heels and ankles.

Choosing the Right Scrubs

Choosing the Right Scrubs

When you’re choosing a pair of scrubs, there are several factors that you want to ensure are considered. For one, the scrubs absolutely have to fit correctly. If they’re too tight, they’ll be uncomfortable, and if they’re too loose, they’ll be awkward to wear. The scrubs should also be durable and easy to wash. Especially if you’re actually wearing these scrubs as your working outfit, they’ll have to be washed frequently, and you want to make sure they stand up to this kind of constant washing.

Whether you’re choosing mens scrubs or womens scrubs, you also want to make sure that they’re a comfortable fabric. If they’re at all itchy or irritating, it’s going to distract you from doing your job. You also want to be careful to purchase scrubs according to your body type. If you’re short, for example, always choose petite scrubs. If you have to constantly roll the cuffs of your scrubs, it’s going to be annoying and potentially dangerous. After all, if they come unrolled, you might actually trip on an overly long pant leg.
